Tribute to Alicia Kaminetzky
It is with great sadness that we share with you the passing of Alicia Kaminetzky on May 2, 2014.
Art for Cancer Foundation would like to express our deepest sympathy to Alicia’s family and friends and especially her daughters Dalila, Debora, and Fernanda.
We would also like to recognize the wonderful contributions Alicia made to our art programs for people living with cancer. Alicia was one of our longest standing volunteers who continued to help out even as she lived with her own challenges from cancer.
Alicia led her own ceramic painting workshop as a guest artist, sharing her love for ceramics and painting which was most appreciated and enjoyed by participants!
Alicia’s genuine desire and selfless approach to helping others living with cancer brought her a sense of purpose and joy. Always the first to arrive and last to leave Alicia could be counted on no matter the weather. Alicia’s smiling face, and caring and compassionate way made everyone feel safe and welcome.
Never one to focus on her own illness, Alicia reached out and made a huge difference in the lives of others living with cancer. Alicia will be sadly missed by all of us at Art for Cancer and remembered for her generosity of spirit and graceful way of living in the world.
